The Toronto FC shut out Montreal Impact 2-0 (halftime 1-0) in its first match of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship, played on Wednesday, April 28th, 2010 in front of 21,436 spectators, at BMO Field, in Toronto.

It was a scrappy game with six yellow cards and one red card booked by referee Paul Ward. From the 35th minute of play, the Montreal Impact played with a man down after forward Roberto Brown was ejected from the game for hitting Toronto FC midfielder Sam Cronin in the face.
